Millions of Filipinos will observe All Saints' Day on November 1 to pay respects to their deceased loved ones. During this time, cemeteries are packed with people visiting the graves of their dearly departed. Filipinos remember the dead with prayers and offerings of flowers or candles. While the religious event is meant to be observed solemnly, it is not uncommon for others to have a party-like atmosphere around tombs with karaoke or videoke sessions, card games, booze and food. Enterprising merchants add to the chaotic atmosphere hawking anything from candles and flowers to food and drinks.
